Symposium on women’s role in society

Bangalore: A symposium on “The effective role of women in the reconstruction of family and society” will be held at BIFT auditorium, Darussalam, Queen’s Road here from 4-6 pm on January 7, 2011.

Being organised by the women’s wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), Karnataka and Goa, the occasion will also witness the release of a souvenir ‘Women’s Voice’.

This will be a prelude to women’s conferences on ‘Ideal women: A boon for happy family and healthy society” and other topics set to be held on January 27, 2011.

Dr Sushma Jaireth, professor, Department of Women’s Studies with NCERT, New Delhi will be the chief guest.

Women luminaries such as freelance journalist and executive trustee of CIVIC Kathyayini Chamaraj, Principal of Al-Ameen Institute of Management Studies Dr Anuradha, Member of National Federation of Indian Women Shashikala, and treasurer of Forward Trust Sheema Mohsin will throw light on the topic. Amathur Razzaq, President of JIH, Women’s wing, will preside over the function.
