SDPI demands title rights for poor in Kodlipet

Kodagu. Jan. 10, 2012. The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) staged a protest from Hand Post to Kodlipet town in Somwarpet taluk in the district on January 8 to demand title rights of domiciled house sites for the poor. The protest rally “Namma Bhoomi Namma Hakku” (Our Land, Our Right) was taken out to urge the Kodagu district administration to accord title rights to the poor people who have been living in Kodlipet and the surrounding places for the last 30 years.

Besides, the protesters demanded three acres of farm land for each poor farmer. Former MLA, A.K. Subbaiah; the SDPI State President, Abdul Majeed; the SDPI State Secretary, Hemalatha; the SDPI District President, M.A. Fazullah, and others spoke.
