Ministerial Mistake in Minority Matter!

Bangalore. March 23, 2012. Sorry for the mistake. It is 385 crores not 235. The Minority Department secretary Mr. Syed Zamir Pasha is quick enough to clarify that there was a ministerial mistake in figures of funds allocated for minorities in the budget 2012-13 presented by the Chief Minister. There is a 17.5 % hike from the previous year’s allocation and it was confirmed from the Finance Department also, he said here on March 22.  Giving the breakup he said 239.34 are meant for Minorities Directorate, 16.35 for Zilla Panchayat Fund, 100 will go to Minorities Development Corporation, 17.7 are kept as non-plan expenditure, 1.34 for Minorities Commission, 10 for Haj House construction and 50 crores for Christians specifically.

Former minister for minority affairs Prof. Mumtaz Ali Khan had also made this clarification, separately.

Earlier Mr. Qamarul Islam, MLA, Gulbarga and other Muslim leaders had expressed their deep anguish over the step-motherly treatment with minorities.
