‘Masjid plays a pivotal role in promoting communal harmony’

Arehalli (Hassan). Oct. 24, 2011. “Muslims must present Islam through their words and actions before the society. They should set a living example of Islam for the entire society. Islam has spread through peace and harmony, I would be the first person to listen if anyone proves that Islam was forcibly promoted” said, Moulana Syed Jalaluddeen Umari, All India President, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), and Vice President, All India Muslim Personal Law Board on Oct 15 here. He inaugurated the Masjid-e-Hira, here. More than 2000 people attended the inaugural function organized by the Hira Welfare Trust, Arehalli. Mr. Muhammad Kunhi, Joint Secretary, JIH Karnataka in his Kannada speech emphasized on the pivotal role of Masjid in promoting communal harmony, besides serving as a centre of all activities of Muslim community. “Prophet Muhammad (S) used to meet Non-Muslim delegations in his Masjid,” he said. Mr. Muhammad Abdullah Javed, President, JIH Karnataka explained about the multi-faceted role of a Masjid in Muslim community.
