Bangalore. Jan. 10, 2012. Madiha Afshan, the current president of the Girls’ Islamic Organization (GIO), Karnataka Zone, has been elected for the second term.
Madiha was elected by members of the Advisory council at the concluding day of the two-day state conference of the GIO cadre here on January 8. Madiha will hold office from January 2012 to December 2013.
About 800 girl students and young ladies from across the State attended the conference held under the central theme “Ar Rif’atu Lana Fid Dunya – Wal Aaqibatu Fil Aakhira” (Glory for us in the world and success in the hereafter) at the Shadab Mahal on Tannery Road.
Before the president was elected, the advisory council comprising the following 11 members was chosen:
