Liquor Shops on Wakf Properties

Bijapur. Dec. 27, 2011. Mr. Abdul Riyaz Khan, Chairman, Karnataka Board of Wakf, has admitted that cases of misuse of Wakf properties were reported from Talikote, Bagalkote and Bijapur. “The unauthorized occupants in many places are running liquor shops,” he said. One liquor shop was in Talikote and 14 in Bagalkote, Mr. Riyaz added. He was on an official tour here last month.

  1. just Mr. Abdul Reyaz Khan is touring or he is doing some work to protect the properties. What happened to Bada Makan property near lalbagh Bangalore and also about Cr.No.265 in which Abdul Reyaz Khan is accused No.9.

  2. There are several unauthorized shops in this property which belongs to Basheban Dargah which is situated in CTS No. 3294 of Belgaum. Some of the trustees of the said dargah has been misusing their rights and have given the shops on rent without prior intimation to the WAKF Board office Bangalore nor Belgaum. Even after submitting numerous complaints to the WAKF Board office there is no response.
