Abdul Salam Bags Four Gold Medals in Engineering

MANGALORE: Sept 26, 2011.A.K. Abdul Salam received four gold medals in Civil Engineering. He was presented with gold medals at the hands of chief guest Manmohan Sharma, Emeritus Professor of Eminence, ICT, Mumbai in eighth convocation of National Institute of Technology-Karnataka (NIT-K) held here on Sept 25.

His parents P.M. Abdul Khader and Souda were “very happy to see him toping NIT-K.”

Abdul Salam bagged four gold medals in Civil Engineering department:

  1. U S Mallya Memorial Prize for the Best Student of the final year B Tech
  2. Prof M N Shivashankar Gold Medal for First Rank holder in B Tech
  3. Dr R K Yaji Gold Medal for the Best Out Going Student in B Tech
  4. Institution Medal in B Tech

Abdul Salam had studied PUC at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bangalore. His is currently pursuing third semester M Tech in Geo Technical Engineering at IIT, Mumbai. Talking to karnatakamuslims.com he said, “Regular attendance in my classes and practical classes helped me to achieve success.”

He further said, “My dream career is teaching along with pursuing research. This will surely bring monetary rewards too!”
